Overview

Some transactions require Single Sign-On for the WPM player to monitor them effectively.  This article describes how to assign services accounts from your domain to allow this.

Cause

This is encountered when the transaction uses Single Sign-On to pull login information from the account that is currently logged in on the machine.  By default, the SEUM-User accounts only have local credentials.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to (C or the SolarWinds install directory):\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SEUM\Player.
  2. Launch the SolarWinds.SEUM.AgentDomainConfigurationTool.exe by right clicking and selecting - run as->administrator.
It will fail to save if you do not "run as administrator" even if you are using an admin account.
  3. Check the box next to 'Enable domain accounts for playbacks'
  4. Fill in the Domain name, Username, and Password for each account in the fields as seen below:

  5. Click Validate, and then save.
  6. Restart the WPM Playback services

Note:  It is required to have as many service accounts as there are worker processes on this player.  This may vary for each player depending on the environment.  This is required because each worker process handles different transactions at different times.  The passwords that are entered are encrypted.
