Configuration Wizard on APE failed with error No valid connection information received for a service

You may find an additional polling engine(APE) is failing during the Configuration Wizard with the following error in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\ConfigurationWizard.log:

Connection to SolarWinds® BusinessLayer Service did not succeed. Last error: No valid connection information received for a service 'ServiceId: Core.BusinessLayer, ServiceLogicalInstanceId: engine:XX, ServiceInstancePropertyFilters: isLocal-True, isStreamed-False'

This error message is also found in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\OrionWeb.log when adding nodes to a polling engine and/or in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\BusinessLayerHost.log during Orion services startup.

• The affected APE is not licensed in the web-based License Manager.
• Mismatch of product versions between main Orion server and the affected APE
• DNS/domain-related Issues

Add a valid license for the affected APE 

• Activate an APE license in the web-based License Manager
• Run the Orion Configuration wizard on the affected APE again

Match the product versions between the main Orion server and the APE 

• Download and run the latest Orion installer on the affected APE

If your APE/s are in another domain, ensure that all FQDN of other Orion servers are reachable 

•  The DNS hostname is not resolvable
