Compressed tables causes exceptions in Database Maintenance in SolarWinds Platform

This article provides information that Database Maintenance has exceptions showing on SolarWinds Health Page, and in Database Maintenance logs due to compression being enabled on tables

Overview

There will be exceptions as such seen in Database Maintenance logs and SolarWinds Health Page (the table shown below is just a reference, and can happen to any table):

ERROR SolarWinds.Data.DatabaseMaintenance.MaintenanceEngine - Error in thread: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): 
dbm_ExecuteMaintenance: dbm_AggregateData_part: dbm_AggregateTimeSerie_part: ALTER TABLE SWITCH statement failed. Source and target partitions have 
different values for the DATA_COMPRESSION option. ALTER TABLE CiscoBuffers_CS_Daily_stg
SWITCH TO CiscoBuffers_CS_Daily_hist PARTITION 197
WITH (WAIT_AT_LOW_PRIORITY (MAX_DURATION = 1 MINUTES, ABORT_AFTER_WAIT = BLOCKERS))

Cause

This issue occurs due to SolarWinds Platform does not support compressed tables.

Resolution

To work around this problem, please have the Database Administrator disable compression on the tables in the SolarWinds database. If this feature is necessary, please file a feature request via SolarWinds support ticket.
