Cisco ASA CPU and Memory stopped polling from the PerfStack Analysis after ASA OS Upgrade

Overview

After a device OS or firmware upgrade, Perfstack may be unable to poll the device for CPU & Memory as expected. This article explains how to disable and re-enable assigned pollers for the CPU & Memory metrics.

Cause

The assigned CPU & Memory poller is invalid after a firmware upgrade on the node.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console. 
  2. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Manage Pollers
  3. Group By Technology on the left, Select CPU and Memory, and select the CPU and Memory for the ASA.
  4. Select Assigned Nodes then Disable and Enable the poller of the target node.
  5. Navigate to the Node Details of the affected node, Select List Resources, uncheck the CPU and Memory, select Submit and Poll Now on the Node Details page.
  6. Select List resources, recheck the CPU and Memory, select Submit and select Rediscover on the Node Details page.
  7. Check the PerfStack shart again along with the CPU and Memory metrics.
