By default, KSS saves the log as SyslogCatchAll%DateISO.txt. Changing the file format from .txt to .csv begins to save the logs in that specific format. 

To change the format the Log to file rule action, follow the below steps:

  1. In KSS navigate to File > Setup > Rules
  2. Select the rule you want to modify and select the Log to file rule action
  3. In the Path and file name of log file: field, change the file extension to the desired format (i.e. from TXT to CSV)
  4. Click Apply and then Ok
  5. KSS will now write files to that location in the specified file format
    • Note: This only applies to the rule action you have modified. If you have other rules with the Log to file rule action you will need to repeat this process for each rule you want to follow this behavior.

Depending on the preferred configuration of your log files, some settings may not take place properly if you have options such as Enable File Rotation for sizes and are within the Path and File Name of Log Files. If the format is set with %TimHH%TimeMM, the file size might not reach what is configured if the time rolls over before the log reaches the configured size.
