Cannot add or edit nodes in the Web Console

When attempting to add/edit a node you receive an unexpected error.

Overview

When attempting to add or edit a node, you receive an unexpected error. 

In the Orion.web log, you will see something similar to the following:

2017-01-24 11:37:11,730 [17] (4) ERROR Orion_NPM_Controls_UCS_UcsManagerCredentials - (null)  System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.

System.Web.HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.

Cause

  • UCS properties got corrupted 
  • Database performance is very poor 

Resolution

  1. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Shrink the size of the Orion Database Transaction Log File
  3. Run a repair of the SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor.
