*In Amazon Cloud this issue could present an Error 502.

Cause

  • Anti virus 
  • or
  • The presence of an unusual table smtpserver is the cause of the issue.
  • AWS (Amazon Cloud) security 

Resolution

Resolution 1

  1. Turn Off Anti-Virus or Remove  AV Rule that is responsible   
  2. Files and directories to exclude from antivirus scanning for Orion Platform products

Resolution 2

Note: Before doing any work on your database please make sure that you have a current backup.

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.

  2. Click Add Default Server.

  3. Right-click on the Database, and then select New Query.

  4. Paste the following query, and then click Execute Query.

    DROP TABLE [SMTPServers]
  5. Run the Configuration Wizard.
Check the add action. You will need to add your SMTP servers back to Orion.

  • Recreate the alert action
