Blank Orion Web Console after an upgrade

This article provides resolutions for the following issues: 1) After you upgrade the Orion Platform and another Orion module, certain pages of the Orion Web Console, such as the Edit account or Edit view page, remain blank. 2) After running the Orion Configuration wizard, you find when trying to launch the website that it is blank. However, there are no errors in the Orion web log.

Overview

Issue 1:

After you upgrade the Orion Platform and another Orion module, certain pages of the Orion Web Console, such as the Edit account or Edit view page, remain blank.

Additionally, the OrionWeb.log indicates an error. The error message contains the following keywords: "HttpCompileException" and "App_Code".

Issue 2:

After running the Orion Configuration wizard, you find when trying to launch the website that it is blank.

Cause

Temporary files in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET were corrupted

Resolution

Resolution 1:

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Stop all Orion Services
  2. Go to C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files.
  3. Remove the contents of the folder.
  4. run IISRESET in cmd
  5. Start all Orion Services

Resolution 2: 

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Start (Windows Key) and Type ConfigurationWizard.
  2. Click the ConfigurationWizard.
  3. Tick website only and click next throughout.
  4. Once it is running, please do NOT skip website optimization.
