Overview

With BitLocker installed, SEM visibility of audits events is reduced. This is expected behavior of Bitlocker.

Product section

Security Event Manager

Cause

Bitlocker is an encryption program and so by its very nature reduces the audit events SEM can report on.

Resolution

There is no workaround and this is expected behavior.

When BitLocker is acting on USB drives, SEM only reports USB connects and disconnects.

When BitLocker is not acting on USB drives, the usual USB SEM audit functions are available to see, read/write, executable attempts on the device, etc.
