Banner exec ^ C

Product section

Network Configuration Manager

Cause

NCM uses #  as a reserved character to detect a command prompt from the device. If the device is configured with a banner message containing the # character, there is potential  the backup will fail as it will think the device has returned to the prompt and the execution has completed.

Resolution

Suggestion is to replace any # characters used in banners with an alternative character. Use a '*' or another unreserved character for example, /.
