Resolution

Back up FTP Voyager

  1. Create a backup folder for your FTP Voyager files.
  2. Create scheduler and GUI subfolders in the backup folder.
  3. Locate the installation folder where FTP Voyager saves its settings. Unless you changed this during installation, this folder is found in one of the following locations:
    • Windows XP or Server 2003: C:\Program Files\FTP Voyager
    • Windows Vista, 7, 8 or Server 2008 or 2012: C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft\FTP Voyager or C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft.com\FTP Voyager
  4. Copy the following files from the installation folder into the scheduler subfolder:
    • FTPVoyager.Archive
    • FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive
    • Scheduler.Archive
    • FTPVoyagerID.txt
  5. Locate the user profile folder where Windows saves FTP Voyager settings. This folder is found in one of the following locations:
    • Windows XP or Server 2003: C:\Program Files\FTP Voyager
    • Windows Vista, 7, 8 or Server 2008 or 2012: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\RhinoSoft.com\FTP Voyager
  6. Copy the following files from the user profile folder into the GUI subfolder:
    • FTPVoyager.Archive
    • FTPVoyagerSettings.Archive
    • CustomCommands.Archive
  7. If you want to preserve your FTP Voyager window positions and other display information, use RegEdit to export your HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rhino Software\FTP Voyager registry key as FTPVoyagerWindowStates.reg into your backup folder.

For a more accurate backup of your files, close the FTP Voyager and stop the FTP Voyager Scheduler service.

Restore FTP Voyager

  1. Install or upgrade to the latest edition of FTP Voyager.
  2. Stop FTP Voyager and the FTP Voyager Scheduler service.
  3. Find your installation and user profile folders.
  4. Copy the *.archive and FTPVoyagerID.txt files from the backup scheduler subfolder into your installation folder.
  5. Copy the *.archive files from the backup GUI subfolder into your user profile folder.
Note: To back up your window states, use RegEdit to import the file FTPVoyagerWindowStates.reg you created earlier.
  6. Start FTP Voyager and the FTP Voyager Scheduler service.

Export and import site profiles

Instead of performing a full backup, you can export or import each of the two sets of your FTP Voyager or FTP Voyager Scheduler site profiles separately. To do this, open your Site Profile Manager or Scheduler Site Profile Manager window and click Import or Export.

Exported site profiles will be in CSV format, which allows you to remove, change or add new entries as necessary.

For FTP Voyager 15.2.0.19 and earlier

Back up site profiles

  1. Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View.
  2. Change from View Hidden Files & Folders option to Show hidden files and folders.
  3. Go to the following location and copy the FTPVoyager.ftp and FTPVoyager.qc files to a backup folder:
    • For Windows XP/Server 2003 users: C:\Documents and Settings\UserID\Application Data\RhinoSoft\FTP Voyager
    • For Windows Vista/7/Server 2008 users: C:\Users\UserID\appdata\Roaming\RhinoSoft\FTP Voyager

Site Profiles can also be backed up using the Export utility of FTP Voyager under Export Site Profiles. This exports the profiles to a .CSV file, which can be reimported through the Import menu.

Back up earlier versions of FTP Voyager Scheduler

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Go to the following location and copy the FTP Voyager Scheduler.sch and FTP Voyager Scheduler.sch.backup directories to a backup folder:
    • For Windows XP/Server 2003 users: C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft.com\FTP Voyager or C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft\FTP Voyager
    • For Windows Vista/7/Server 2008 users: C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft.com\FTP Voyager or C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft\FTP Voyage

Back up earlier versions of  FTP Voyager Registry settings

Note: Use caution when editing registry settings as RhinoSoft is not responsible for any damages to your system. If you are unsure about this process, it is suggested to recreate these settings later rather than trying to back them up.

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Go to the following location: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Rhino Software\FTP Voyager
  3. Right-click the FTP Voyager folder and select Export.
