Automatically move files from another directory in Serv-U

Serv-U does not have a direct configuration to automatically move files from another directory, but it is possible to do so using the Event menu. This article explains the process.

Overview

Serv-U does not have a direct configuration to automatically move files from another directory, but it is possible to do so using the Event menu. This article explains how you can use the File Uploaded event and execute a command through a script. The event can be triggered at the Domain, Group, and User level.

Resolution

At the Domain level:
  1. In the Serv-U management console, go to the Domain and click Event.
  2. Click Add, and then select File Uploaded.
  3. Select the Execute command in Event actions.
  4. Browse the script, and click Save.
At the Group level:
  1. In the Serv-U management console, go to the Domain and click Groups.
  2. Click Event, then Add, and then select File Uploaded.
  3. Select the Execute command in Event actions.
  4. Browse the script, and click Save.
At the User level:
  1. In the Serv-U management console, go to the Domain and click User.
  2. Select the user, and then go to Properties.
  3. Click Event, then Add, and then select File Uploaded.
  4. Select the Execute command in Event actions.
  5. Browse the script, and click Save.
