Assign device template manually in NCM

How to assign a device template to a node in NCM, to download config backup.

This article provides information about manually assigning device templates to nodes in NCM, allowing to backup the device configs.

Cause

You might want to assign a device template manually to a node or a group of nodes if you have created a device template yourself or if NCM is having issues downloading configs using the current device template which might be incorrect.

Resolution

Click Settings > Manage Nodes.
Select a node (or nodes), and then click Edit Properties.
Scroll to the bottom and make sure Manage Node(s) with NCM is set to Yes.
Under NCM Properties > Communication, click the Device Template drop-down list and select a Device Template.
Click Submit.
