AppInsight and Windows Scheduled tasks Application Monitors are assigned to all nodes in a Scheduled Discovery after upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2025.2

Even if the app monitors are not selected in discovery settings, after upgrading to 2025.2, the scheduled discoveries added unwanted application monitors to all nodes.

Overview

When a Scheduled Discovery runs after upgrading to the 2025.2 version, AppInsight (IIS, SQL) monitors and Windows Scheduled Tasks are assigned to all nodes.

These Application monitors are not selected in the discovery profile settings shown in the screenshot below, so they should not have been added.

The screenshot shows the timestamp when the applications were added. They all have the same timestamp, indicating this is the result of a Scheduled Discovery.

The issue raises a number of false positive alerts and impacts the polling rates.

This is a known issue in 2025.2.

Resolution

This issue is addressed in 2025.2.1. Consider upgrading your environment.
