Cause

If the group policy or the local policy has Administrator Approval Mode set to Enable, the polling will fail with an error. This is usually because the administrator account does not have enough permissions.

Resolution

  1. In your local security policy, navigate to Local Policies > Security Options > User Account Control: Run all administrators in Administrator Approval Mode.
Note: This should be set to Disabled to let administrators poll properly.
  2. Navigate to Local Policies > Security Options > User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator Account.
NoteThis should be Disabled for the built-in administrator to poll properly.
