Allow or Disallow user to connect via SFTP protocol in Serv-U

Overview

In the Serv-U Group level and User level, you have a specific limit type that you can modify if you want to allow or disallow a user or a certain group of users to be able to access your Serv-U server via SFTP protocol and the limit is not available at the Global/Server level or Domain Level.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Serv-U Management console
  2. Go to Group Properties or User Properties
  3. Go to Limit & Settings Tab
  4. Set Limit Type to Connection
  5. Set Allow SFTP connections to YES (by default, this is set to Yes)
  6. Set Allow SFTP connections to NO (If you do not want a user or group to have the ability to connect via SFTP)
