Alert on Node To Node link objects for application dependencies in SAM

This article demonstrates how to use SAM's node-to-node link for application dependencies as an object for trigger condition in alerting.

Overview

When monitoring application dependencies between servers you monitor in the web console, you may need to create an alert whenever a dependency(or a link) between them goes down, or critical, or etc.

Resolution

Go to Manage Alerts and click Add New Alert
Under Trigger Conditions tab, set I want to alert on: to Node To Node Link
Configure the rest of the alert with the logic conditions of your alerting requirement(e.g. Node To Node Link Status is equal to Down, Node To Node Link Latency Status is equal to Critical, etc.)
Finish the alert configuration.
