Overview

In this issue, the Serv-U Clients cannot delete files or folders in their home directory when accessing the Serv-U Web Client. Directory Access Permission in place and set to Full Access.

It starts to occur after Upgrading Serv-U to 15.2.4, and users are getting an error: $SU_HTTP_UNAUTHORIZED_STR$

Cause

Serv-U Base Version (15.2.4.1324) was skipped during Upgrade Process and directly applied the 15.2.4 Hotfix 1.

Resolution

Perform an Upgrade/Repair of the Serv-U Application
Pre-Implementation Steps:
1. Create a Server Snapshot --- THIS IS IMPORTANT
2. Create a Database Server Snapshot (this is optional if using Database users) --- THIS IS IMPORTANT
3.  The files that must be backed up before the upgrade are the following: --- THIS IS IMPORTANT
- Serv-U.Archive file
- Users folder
- Shares folder
- Serv-UID.txt file

These files are either stored in:
- Windows Vista/7/8, Server 2008/2012 - C:\ProgramData\RhinoSoft\Serv-U (ProgramData Folder is Hidden in Windows by default)
- Windows 2000/XP, Server 2000/2003 - C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft\Serv-U

Implementation Steps:
1. Login to Serv-U Server
2. Stop the Serv-U service.
3. Run the install file, it should complete within 5 minutes.
4. Upgrade is complete.
5. Launched the Serv-U Management Console
6. Stop Serv-U Services
7. Apply Serv-U 15.2.4 HotFix 1
