Access the Advanced Configuration settings in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console

This article describes how to access Advanced Configuration settings in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console if you are directed to update options, either by SolarWinds Support or documentation.

Overview

The Advanced Configuration settings offer options to tweak the way the SolarWinds Platform is originally designed to function. For troubleshooting purposes, it may be necessary to access this page and apply changes to its settings.

IMPORTANT NOTE: SOLARWINDS RECOMMENDS THAT YOU ONLY CHANGE ADVANCED CONFIGURATION SETTINGS WHEN DIRECTED TO DO SO BY EITHER SOLARWINDS SUPPORT OR ORION PLATFORM DOCUMENTATION.

Orion Platform

Resolution

  1. Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console using an account with administrative privileges.
  2. To access Advanced Configuration Settings, copy /Admin/AdvancedConfiguration/Global.aspx.
  3. Paste it into your browser address bar, after /Orion, as shown here: http://YOUR_SERVER/Orion/Admin/AdvancedConfiguration/Global.aspx
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Update required settings and then click Save.
Note that the Advanced Configuration Settings page includes two tabs: Global and Server-specific:

Changing some settings might require a restart. When you press F5 to refresh the Advanced Settings page, the restart required message returns to inform you that all future changes will need a restart.
