Additional LEM downloads for version 6.6

After you install Log & Event Manager (LEM) version 6.6, you may need to download and install additional software components for additional data collection and analysis. This article provides a list of data collection and analysis software components available for LEM 6.6.

After you install Log & Event Manager version 6.6.n, you may need to download and install additional software components for additional data collection and analysis.

LEM Desktop Console 

The LEM console provides a browser-based method to monitor your LEM appliance. If your IT requirements restrict you from using a browser-based solution, you can install the LEM desktop console powered by Adobe AIR Runtime. This console enables you to monitor your LEM appliance without a web browser.  

  • Adobe AIR Runtime (Not currently available for download)
  • Desktop Console

Adobe AIR Runtime is required to run the LEM desktop console. If you are currently running Adobe AIR Runtime for another application, the download is not required.

Microsoft SQL Auditor 

SQL Server 2000Microsoft® SQL Auditor enables you to audit the following database for changes and failed modification attempts on the following Microsoft SQL Server® databases:

  • SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE)
  • SQL Server 2005
  • SQL Server 2005 Express
  • SQL Server 2008
  • SQL Server 2008 Release 2 (R2)
  • SQL Server 2014
  • SQL Server 2016

Download and install SQL Auditor on your Microsoft SQL database server or a remote system running SQL Profiler.

LEM Reports Console 

Download and install Crystal Reports Runtime and LEM Reports if you want to run pre-configured security and compliance reports.The LEM Reports Console converts your LEM database data into information you can use to troubleshoot and identify problems in your corporate network. Installed on a separate Windows server or workstation in a multiple location deployment, you can run over 200 standard and industry-specific reports that help you make informed decisions about your corporate enterprise.

  • Crystal Reports Runtime 
  • LEM Reports 

Both items are required to run LEM Reports. If you are currently running Crystal Reports Runtime on your system for another application, downloading and installing this component is not required.

NOTE: LEM Reports version 6.4 is the latest version and also works with LEM 6.5 and 6.6.

LEM Connectors 

LEM connectors are software components that convert raw events collected from a network device into normalized events. Connectors can reside on device agents or the LEM appliance.

Download and apply the LEM connector update package when SolarWinds updates a connector or when directed by Technical Support.

You can automatically update your connectors each day by enabling this option in the console at Manage > Appliances > Connectors Updates.
