Re-Enabling Port Monitoring in User Device Tracker (UDT)
This article outlines the process for managing previously discovered ports using the Network Sonar Results Wizard in User Device Tracker (UDT).

Overview
The Network Sonar Results Wizard in SolarWinds UDT provides a streamlined interface for managing and monitoring network ports after discovery. If a port has already been discovered and set to Unmonitor, re-running a discovery will not change its status The interface provides several ways to refine port selection:

Selection Criteria: Filter ports by status, mode, or hardware for quick selection.

Advanced Selection Options: Use keyword-based filters, exact match phrases, or regular expressions for precise control.

Manual Grouping: Navigate and organize ports using the List of Interfaces section with flexible Group by options.

If a network discovery is run and the port has already been discovered previously, no changes will be made. If the port was previously set to Unmonitor it will remain Unmonitor.
To monitor and manage a port again, change the drop down to show Ports, and then click Monitor.
The following screenshot shows an example a Network Sonar Results Wizard on the PORTS import page.
This is useful when you:
- Need to add many ports at once
- Need to add specific types of Ports
In the above screen shot, you can narrow down the selection further by using any of the following options:
- The default "Selection Criteria", which includes:
- Port Status
- Port Mode
- Hardware
- The "Advanced Selection Options", which allows for additional filtering options based on keywords, exact phrases, or regular expressions.
- Or, manually grouping and selecting ports from the "List of Interfaces" section, which has several "Group by:" options to help narrow the selection.
