Overview

The management console by default can only be accessed from the Windows server where Serv-U is installed. If the admin wants to access the console from outside the server, a System Administrator account needs to be created.

Note: This functionality is only available for customers with an MFT license. The FTP license does not have this functionality.

Resolution

  1. Create or edit an existing user account in Serv-U.
  2. Under the User Information tab, set the Administration Privilege to 'System Administrator' then SAVE.
  3. Open the web browser and access the server web client using the server local or public IP or FTP site.

Note: This setting can also be applied to a group instead of individual users.
