Access points show as unknown in wireless heatmap

The access points are visible in Network Atlas, but when a wireless heatmap (WLHM) is created, the access points show as Unknown.

The access points are visible in Network Atlas, but when a wireless heatmap (WLHM) is created, the access points show as Unknown.

Cause

Unknown.

Resolution

  1. Open the following config file in a text editor:
    /inetpub/SolarWinds/web.config
  2. Find a setting with the key EntitiesNotInUse.
    This setting contains multiple values separated by a semicolon (;).
  3. Remove the following from the list of values:
    Orion.WirelessHeatMap.AccessPoints;
  4. Save the config file.
  5. Restart Orion services.
