Access SAM templates on THWACK through a proxy

This article provides steps to access SAM templates in THWACK when using a proxy.

Overview

This article describes how to import SAM templates from THWACK from within the Orion Web Console when using a proxy.

Note: For standard steps that don't involve a proxy, see Import and export SAM templates.

Resolution

  1. Click Start > My Computer > C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Web.
  2. Right-click the web.config file and open it with a text editor.
  3. Locate the <appSettings> section.
  4. Add the following parameters to the section, as given below:
<appSettings>
<add key="proxyAvailable" value="true" />
<add key="username" value="username" />
<add key="password" value="password " />
<add key="proxyAddress" value="IP of the proxy server" />
<add key="proxyPort" value="port of the proxy server" />
</appSettings>
  1. Save the file.
