About synchronizing Orion Platform servers with an NTP server

It is recommended to synchronize Orion Platform servers synchronize with Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to reduce the time difference between the servers.

Resolution

1. In most cases, Windows Time service on the servers will already communicate with Microsoft NTP server

2. But in some cases, the servers are in closed network, and the Orion servers are not able to communicate to the public NTP servers

3. Thus, NTP server is implemented internally (e.g. in DMZ) to be able to fetch the time from a public NTP server.

4. The servers will need to update the NTP server (default Microsoft NTP) to the NTP server that was built in point [3].
