ARM minitrc service cannot be started

The ARM minitrc service is in a ''Stopped'' state, and cannot be started. Digital signature of the file error 577.

Overview

You have installed the FS Logga Collector on the Windows file server. But there are errors when trying to activate the monitoring of this file server from ARM console.

You have checked on the file server and the minitrc service is in a ''Stopped'' state,

and when you tried to start using the command
sc start minitrc it gives the following error:

Error: digital signature of the file (error 577)

Cause

Missing digital signature of minitrc driver file or is not trusted by Windows automatically.

Resolution

If running Windows Server 2008 R2, ensure the required MS KB's are installed on the FS Logga server first.

You can also upgrade to any version of ARM, not 8MAN. With all newer versions of ARM the setups include a Microsoft certified filter driver that is automatically trusted by Windows Server, yet in some edge cases, especially on Windows Server 2008 it may still require above KB to be applied.
