Overview

This article details the resolution to an issue that may affect different ARM features in which the following error messages may be shown in the logs.

Error 1346: Bad Impersonation Level

or

Failed to duplicate user token X.Y.Z\ACCOUNT. Error code 1346.

The following features can be affected by this problem:

  1. Execution of scripts configured in ARM Config---Scripting if the account set for the script execution matches the problematic syntax with the FQDN that contains the point '.'.
  2. During ARM Exchange Mailbox Change operation i.e create, delete, modify, also as a part of creation of user using template (script).
  3. While trying to add an Exchange resource in ARM. The account set for discovery can have the problem and show the following in the ARM interface.
