Overview

You will receive this "429 too many requests" error message if you are unable to retrieve logs from Loggly via API using the single-block event retrieval API feature. Loggly has two different APIs that you can use for event retrieval. Single-block event retrieval API and the Paginating event retrieval API. The Single-block event retrieval API has a limit of 10 requests per second. while Paginating event retrieval API doesn't have any API rate limit.

Cause

This error message will be experienced if you exceeded a limit of 10 requests per second when using the single-block event retrieval API feature.

Resolution

A workaround for this is to use our Paginating Event Retrieval API feature instead since it doesn't have any API rate limit.
