"403 – Forbidden, Ooops… You must be an SCM Administrator to access this page." error on SCM Pages in the SolarWinds Platform

"403 – Forbidden, Ooops… You must be an SCM Administrator to access this page."

Server Configuration Monitor

Cause

The 403 – Forbidden message appears because the account the user using doesn’t currently have the SCM Administrator role, which is required to open the Server Configuration Monitor Settings page.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:

 

  • Log in SolarWinds web console with an Orion administrator account,
  • Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Manage Accounts,
  • Edit your user (or AD group), and enable the SCM Administrator permission under the Server Configuration Monitor section. 

  • Click on Submit.

 

After saving and logging back in, you should be able to access the SCM settings without errors.
