This article applies to Orion NTA 3.7 only.

By default, if you are using the NTA admin account, every NTA alert notification email includes a file program file attachment that adds no informational value to the alert.

To prevent Orion NTA alerts from including this attachment:

  1. Create a new NTA account with admin rights. (In this example: NewUser.)
    1. Click NetFlow Settings in the Netflow Console.
    2. Click Account Manager in the Accounts group.
    3. Click Add
    4. Enter appropriate values and click OK
    5. Select Yes for Allow Administrative Rights in the Edit NewUser Account settings group.
    6. Select No for Allow Browser Integration in the Edit NewUser Account settings group
    7. Scroll down and click OK.
  2. Edit NTA alerts to send notifications to the new NTA user account.
    1. Open Alert Manager (SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Reporting, and Mapping > Advanced Alert Manager) and click Configure Alerts
    2. Select a top talker alert and click Edit.
    3. On Trigger Actions double click E-Mail a Webpage...
    4. Enter a relevant recipient for alert notifications on E-Mail/Pager Addresses. (For example: NewUser@solarwinds.com.)
    5. On URL replace 'Admin' with the new user's name (for example, NewUser) in the current value under Enter or Paste the Web Page URL, as in:

    6. ${SQL:SELECT REPLACE(REPLACE(Macro, '$$Password$$', ''),'$$User$$', 'NewUser') FROM NetFlowAlertMacros WHERE ID='InWebMailInterfaceDetailsLink'}

    7.
    8.
    9. Click OK and OK again to accept the warning.
