Monitor operating status of an interface on ipMonitor

How do I monitor the operating status of an interface?
 

1. From the ipMonitor web interface, click the Devices tab.                                                                     

2. Click  All Managed Devices.                                                                   

3. Select the device in question.                                                                  

4. Click Add -> Add New Monitor.                                                                  

5. Within the left-hand pane, click SNMP.                                                                   

6. Within the right-hand pane, click Custom SNMP (Wizard).                                                                   

7. Ensure that the address and the SNMP community name of the system you wish to monitor are correct and replace the OID with the following:

 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8                                                                 

8. Click Next.

 This will display a table of all Network Interfaces on the system. The 8th column is the IfOperStatus column.                                                           

9. Click the status of the interface you wish to monitor and click then Next.                                                       

10. Set the criteria so that the value must equal 1 (up) and click Create.
