ipMonitor Exchange Monitor displays a connection error

Updated September 25, 2018

The ipMonitor Exchange Monitor displays the following error:

Unable to connect to the remote device.

  • All ipMonitor versions

Assign ipMonitor to use NTLM instead of impersonation.

  1. Log in to the ipMonitor Web Console.
  2. Click the Configuration tab and select Credentials List.
  3. Click the MY-sysaudit credential.

If this Credential is being used by several monitors, create a separate credential with the same account information. This will avoid stressing monitors that depend on RPC calls.

  4. Under Usage Restrictions, de-select all options except Can be used with NTLM Authentication Schemes (Windows NT Lan Manager).
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Force Test to verify the connection.
