Troubleshoot email delivery issues in ipMonitor

Overview

This article provides details that will help you troubleshoot email delivery issues within ipMonitor.

Environment

All ipMonitor versions

Details

  1. Log in to the ipMonitor web console.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. Go to Site Settings > Email Delivery.
  4. Gather the following information:
    • IP address
    • Domain name
    • TCP port
  5. Under Email Action, gather the following information:
    • Mail From Address
    • Mail To Address
  6. On the ipMonitor server, open a Command Prompt window.
  7. Type the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each command:
telnet [IP Address] [Port]
helo
mail from: [Mail From Address]
rcpt to: [Mail To Address]
data
testing...
1
2
3
testing...

At this point the email should be queued for delivery to the Mail To address.
