Running ipMonitor in Internet Explorer disables system sounds

Overview

When you open ipMonitor in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). your enabled systems sounds are disabled. 

Environment

All ipMonitor versions

Cause

  • File type association conflicts in IE.

Steps

  1. Open your Windows Media Player.
  2. Go to Tools > Options > File Types.
  3. Uncheck the .wav option and save your changes.
  4. Recheck the option change.
  5. Close your IE web browser.
  6. Re-open your web browser and open the ipMonitor Web Interface.
  7. Verify that your system sounds are enabled.
