Restore the credentials.db file in ipMonitor

Overview

This article explains how to restore the credentials.db file in ipMonitor. This article applies only if your ipMonitor installation has not moved to a different computer.

Environment

All ipMonitor versions

Details

  1. Log in to the old ipMonitor installation web interface.
  2. Click Configuration > Scheduled Maintenance Tasks > Recurring Internal Maintenance.
  3. Ensure that:
    • Archive ipMonitor Configuration is selected
    • A Credential is specified within the Encryption Credential box.
  4. Click Backup Now.
  5. Copy the backup file to the new ipMonitor system.
  6. Navigate to your ipMonitor directory.
  7. Execute:
    ipmrestore.exe
  8. Point it to the backup file and enter the password for the backup credential.
