The Ping Monitor will send a one byte ping:

ping -l 1 [address]

-If a response is received, no other pings are triggered and the Monitor test is a success.

-If a response is not received, a total of 4 pings will be triggered. Each one will require 4 seconds to complete, regardless of the "Maximum Test Duration" value specified within the Monitor's settings.
