Create backups for configuration and setting files in ipMonitor

Overview

This article provides information about the configuration and settings files you need to back up when you migrate a ipMonitor VM to another server.

Environment

All ipMonitor versions

Details

  1. Log in to the ipMonitor Web Console.
  2. Click the Configuration tab and select Scheduled Maintenance tasks > Recurring Internal Maintenance > Backup Now.
  3. Enter a credential to encrypt the backup file.
  4. Click Backup.
  5. Create a backup copy of the ipMonitor installation folder located at:
    C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\ipMonitor\
    This process ensures that you can rebuild your previous installation without any data loss.

Back up the historical statistics

  1. Navigate to the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\ipMonitor
  2. Back up the following directories:
    • \dbtmp
    • \dbstore
