IPMonitor logs for troubleshooting.


All IP Monitor versions


Logs directory:

By Default:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\ipMonitor\logs


Contains record of monitor state changes and Alerts/Actions triggered.  Handy to see the activity of a specific Monitor.  Simply search for the Monitor’s internal ID within the log file
• runtime.log:
Internal activities of the
ipMonitorSrv service.  Equivalent to what is seen in desktop mode.
Internal activities of the
ipMonitorRpt service.
• Ipmfatal.log:
Last action
ipMonitor halted on.
• Ipmlicense.log:
Indicates any issues with the license files.


• Snmptrap.log:
Contains the raw SNMP trap messages received.
