Assign a monitor to a different device

This article describes how to assign a monitor to a different device.


All ipMonitor versions


To assign a monitor to a different device, you must first move it to the Orphaned Objects group. Only monitors in the Orphaned Objects group may be assigned to a device.

Move a monitor to the Orphaned Objects group

  1. Log in to the ipMonitor Web Console.
  2. Go to the Configuration tab and click System Settings Global Behavior Modifiers Add.
  3. In the Behavior Modifier Name field, enter monitors.orphan.enable.
  4. In the Behavior Modifier Value field, enter 1.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Go to the Devices tab.
  7. Locate and click the monitor you want to move to go to the Edit Monitor page.
  8. Click Move to Orphaned Objects.

Assign a monitor in the Orphaned Objects group to a device

  1. Go to the Devices tab.
  2. In the Groups list, click Orphaned Objects.
  3. Select the check box of the orphaned monitor.
  4. Click Move.
  5. Click the option button of the device to which you want to assign this monitor, and then click Continue.
