WPM Recorder and Player not working in IE 11

The WPM Recorder and Player are no longer working after upgrading to Internet Explorer 11.


  • All WPM versions
  • Any server running IE 11


The Recorder has an incompatibility with IE11.



  • Consult your System Administrator before editing your registry.
  • SolarWinds strongly recommends that you only edit SolarWinds.SEUM.Recorder.exe  and SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Worker.exe  as instructed. Any additional modifications may result in system performance issues or may create an error state.
  • Create a backup of your registry in case you need to roll back later. Refer to the Microsoft article Windows registry information for advance users for procedures related to the Registry Editor.


  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\
  3. Change the decimal value of SolarWinds.SEUM.Recorder.exe from 11000 to 10001.
  4. Change the decimal value of SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Worker.exe from 11000 to 10001 on all locations where the problematic transaction is executed.
  5. Restart the Recorder, Playback player and Playback player proxy service using Orion Service Manager. The Recorder and Player should now work in IE 11.
