Specify a password for WPM user accounts

Note: The password is in clear text in the SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Service.exe.config file.

  1. Locate the AgentSettings.dat file in:
    c:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\SEUM\Data or
    c:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\SolarWinds\SEUM\Data (in Windows 2003) 
  2. Rename the file from AgentSettings.dat to AgentSettings.bakAfter the backup. Delete the file "AgentSettings.dat"
  3. Go to c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SEUM\Player and create a backup copy of the SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Service.exe.config file, in case you need to rollback later.
  4. Open the SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Service.exe.config file in a text editor, such as Notepad.
  5. Locate the workerUserPasswordOverride attribute in the <agentConfiguration> tag.
    For example, <agentConfiguration workerUserPasswordOverride="Your_Password"/>
  6. Restart the WPM services using the Orion Service Manager.
