Recorder and Playback options do not function after an IE v11 pgrade

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when the Recorder and Playback options do not function after an Internet Explorer v11 upgrade. 


WPM version 2.1 or later


The issue is caused by incompatibility of some websites with IE 11.



Warning: SolarWinds strongly recommends that you create a full backup of your registry. The following procedure may create permanent changes. 


1. Run regedit.

2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\.


Note: Apply Steps 3 and 4 to all locations having a Record and Playback issue.

3. Change the decimal value of SolarWinds.SEUM.Recorder.exe from 11000 to 10001.This should allow the recording.

4.  Change  the decimal value of SolarWinds.SEUM.Agent.Worker.exe from 11000 to 10001. This should allow the agent to play any transaction. 

5. Restart the WPM Playback player and WPM Playback proxy service using the Orion Service Manager.
