Overview

The SEUM_BusinessLayerPlugin_tracelog.svclog file is rapidly increasing in size.

Resolution

​Warning:

  • Save a copy of the original SolarWinds.SEUM.BusinessLayer.dll XML config file to your local drive as a backup file, in case you need to roll back later.
  • SolarWinds strongly recommends that you only edit the SolarWinds.SEUM.BusinessLayer.dll XML config file as instructed. Any additional modifications may result in system performance issues or may create an error state.

 

  1. On the Orion server where the large SEUM_BusinessLayerPlugin_tracelog.svclog file is located, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SEUM (or WPM)\
  2. Open the SolarWinds.SEUM.BusinessLayer.dll.config file in a text editor.
  3. Find the following line or similar under the <system.diagnostics> section:
    <source name="System.ServiceModel" switchValue="Off,ActivityTracing" propagateActivity="true">
  4. Change the value in all instances of switchValue to Off.
  5. Save the file.
  6. Stop WPM services. Refer to Start and stop Orion services.
  7. Delete the SEUM_BusinessLayerPlugin_tracelog.svclog file.
  8. Restart WPM services.

If the issue persists, perform the following:

  1. Delete the entire <system.diagnostics> section from the config file.
  2. Stop WPM services.
  3. Delete the SEUM_BusinessLayerPlugin_tracelog.svclog file.
  4. Restart WPM services.
