Include a screenshot in an email alert for a failed transaction step

This article describes how to include a screenshot image in an email.


Web Performance Monitor (WPM) 2.2 and earlier.


  1. Create a new alert, or edit the exist alert called "Alert me when a transaction step goes down".
  2. Set the Trigger Condition to alert on a Transaction Step.
  3. The actual Trigger Condition should appear as shown in the screen shot below:


  1. Add a Trigger Action to send an alert email as show below:
  2. Use the following variable to display the screen shot in the email message. Be sure to replace (enter primary web server address) with the appropriate server name:

NOTE: If there is an issue with receiving screenshots after this, try adding a 1-minute delay before sending the email.
