The following error occurs when clicking Setup > Techs:

This occurs when one or more client_ids have the client_type set to NULL rather than 1 or 2 (Admin or Tech).


  1. Open pgAdmin3.exe in Program Files\WebHelpDesk\pgsql9\bin\ on the server. 
  2. Go to the Object browser on your WHD database.
  3. Click SQL.
  4. Run the following query to verify if any client_type is NULL by pressing F5 to execute.
    select client_id, first_name, last_name, user_name, inactive, deleted, seat_type, client_type from tech
    where client_type is NULL
    order by client_id
  5. Check if any client_type is NULL.
  6. Update any that are NULL to the correct type.
