Web Help Desk 12.0 upgrade fails

Issue

When you upgrade an embedded FrontBase Web Help Desk (WHD) 11.x.x installation to WHD 12.0.0 on a server running Microsoft Windows 2008, the upgrade stalls and does not complete. This issue occurs on servers running Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008.

Environment

  • Web Help Desk 11.x.x
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008

Cause

You did not run the installer with administrator privileges. 

Solution

Follow the procedures in the Web Help Desk Upgrade Guide to upgrade your Web Help Desk deployment to WHD 12.0 or later. 

Copy whd.fb file from your desktop into/FrontBase4/Databases/
