HTTP Status 404 error when accessing Web Help Desk

Overview

After setting Web Help Desk to run on HTTP port 80 instead of HTTPS port 8081, the following error message displays in the Web Help Desk Admin Console:

Resolution

Perform the following procedures on the Web Help Desk server:

  1. Verify that Microsoft Internet information Services (IIS) is not running. If IIS is still running, disable the website running on port 80.  
  2. Verify that Microsoft SQL Server is not running on the server. If SQL Server is running on the server, verify that SQL Server Reporting is NOT enabled. 
  3. Check the Windows Firewall settings. Ensure that TCP Port 80 is open.
