SolarWinds Web Help Desk (WHD) v12.1.0 provides new functionality and improves on previous WHD versions. These release notes explain the new features, performance improvements, and fixed and open issues.

New Features and Improvements

New features and improvements in this release include:

  • Casper 9 support - WHD v12.1.0 adds a new plugin to support Caper 9, using the REST Web Service (WS) with XML structured request and response features. If the Casper 9 API remains the same in the future, the WHD Casper 9 plugin will work for future versions.The Casper 8 plugin remains unchanged.
  • What's New Widget - This new dashboard widget takes you directly to what's new in WHD.
  • Easy-to-access help and tool tips - Context-sensitive help is now only a click away when you click the question mark in the orange box at the upper right of the current window. Once you have opened the help, you can search the entire help system for answers to other questions about WHD. And tool tips are more convenient than ever. Just click the Information icon in the blue circle at right side of each column or field. The tool tip stays in place to the right of the table or field until you close it.
  • Enhanced Rest API - The enhanced REST API has added new endpoints to support WHD's integration with other clients, and includes:
    • Location
    • Ticket
    • Asset, Asset Type, Manufacturer, Model
    • Add list enhancement: Detailed list and Time in UTC
    • Resolved performance issues such as OutOfMemoryException and slowness when an IT ticket is created in a large DB.
    • Improved hosted mode and SSL support in iOS WHD application.
