Overview

This article addresses an issue where WHD throws the following error when specific time zones are selected:

  • Asia/Riyadh87
  • Asia/Riyadh88
  • Asia/Riyadh89
  • Mideast/Riyadh87
  • Mideast/Riyadh88
  • Mideast/Riyadh89

Error: We are sorry, an unexpected error occurred:
<Java.lang.NullPointerException>
A bug report has been emailed to Solarwinds.

Environment

  • WHD 12.2
  • WHD 12.3

Cause

Those time zones were used in Saudi Arabia from 1987 and 1989 and are no longer in use, consequently new versions of the applications do not support them.

Resolution

Use the timezone 'Asia/Riyadh' instead.
