Overview

Users are unable to log in to WHD after setting up Single Sign-On (SSO) and Internet Explorer does not indicate any errors except for a blank page. Other browsers show the ADFS page with an error.

Environment

  • WHD 12.3
  • Windows 2012
  • MS SQL 2008

Cause

This issue occurs when SSO is incorrectly configured.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the MS SQL server.
  2. Open MS SQL Management Studio.
  3. Run the following query:
    update PREFERENCE SET EXTERNAL_AUTH_PARAM_TYPE=0;
  4. Restart WHD using the Start menu shortcuts.
